It can also take the form of a completely enclosed building. The construction of a pickleball hall makes it possible to control ambient humidity and ventilation, and to improve the building’s temperature and acoustic performance.

As for the construction of tennis halls and indoor padel courts, SMC2 favors wood for the structure and textile membranes for the roofing of its pickleball courts.
The structure provides acoustic, lighting and thermal comfort for the players. The translucent fabric provides natural light during the day, while its flexibility prevents sound reverberation. Wood, with its natural ability of storing CO2, limits the building’s carbon footprint, and adds a warm, natural feel.
Coupled with LED lighting, indoor pickleball facilities or covered pickleball pitches can also be used in the evening, making better use of the sports space.
