Colombes inaugurates its first covered padel courts thanks to SMC2’s expertise
The City of Colombes has unveiled its first two padel courts, now protected by a textile membrane roof and microperforated façades designed and built by SMC2. Located in the heart of Pierre Lagravère Park, this new facility reflects the local authority’s commitment to providing sports infrastructures that are durable, comfortable and suitable for year-round use.
For this project, SMC2 delivered the roofing of two padel courts. The building measures 26.62 m / 85.30 ft in length and 24.7 m / 78.74 ft in width, perfectly covering both playing courts.
The structure is designed to ensure optimal natural light, passive thermal comfort and effective protection against weather conditions. Players benefit from a covered space that allows play regardless of external conditions.
The perimeter façades are made of microperforated textile membrane, offering three key advantages:
• Controlled natural ventilation, essential for moisture removal and maintaining optimal indoor air quality.
• Light control, filtering glare while allowing uniform daylight to enter.
• A modern architectural signature, integrating seamlessly into the park’s landscape.
This construction solution achieves the right balance between protection, visibility and comfort, while ensuring the long-term durability of the facility.
These two covered padel courts mark an important milestone in the development of the city’s sports infrastructure. The new venue will support the rapid growth of padel, a sport enjoying strong momentum, and meet the expectations of both clubs and recreational players.
With this project, SMC2 once again confirms its expertise in the construction of covered sports facilities, combining technical performance, environmental responsibility and quality of use.
