PREOSPORT – BOBIGNY (FR)

A Covered Sports Facility at the Heart of a Middle School in Bobigny, France

Located in Bobigny, this new covered multisport area reflects a strong commitment to equipping schools with sustainable, functional, and visually appealing infrastructure. Built within a middle school, the covered outdoor sports court spans over 1 000 m² / 10 764 ft² (dimensions: 44 x 24 meters / 144 x 78 ft) and provides students with a space to practice physical activity all year round.

The roof structure is supported by a mixed wood-and-steel frame, combining strength, lightness, and architectural elegance. The entire facility is protected by a tensioned fabric membrane, offering effective shelter from the elements while allowing generous natural light to filter through.

To complete the structure, the upper façades are clad with a micro-perforated textile membrane, shielding users from wind and rain while ensuring good airflow and visibility to the outside.

At ground level, fences and screens secure the perimeter and define the playing area, without compromising its integration into the urban environment.

Designed to promote daily physical activity among students, this covered sports facility is a prime example of infrastructure that balances performance, durability, and design. It fully meets the needs of educational institutions: protecting outdoor sports areas while preserving their openness to the surrounding environment.
